Personal Finance Calculators

Choose a finance calculator for loan payments, mortgage estimates, auto financing, simple interest, compound growth, and household planning checks.

These SolverCalc tools help estimate common money questions from the numbers you enter. Start by deciding whether the task is about borrowing, repayment, interest growth, or a major purchase.

Choose the finance task

Loan Calculator

Estimate monthly payments, total repayment, and interest cost for a general loan.

Example input$10,000 at 8% for 3 yearsMonthly payment depends on compounding and fee assumptions

Use this for personal loans and general repayment planning when the loan is not specifically a mortgage or auto loan.

Mortgage Calculator

Estimate house-payment scenarios using loan amount, interest rate, term, and related home-cost assumptions.

Example input$300,000 at 6.5% for 30 yearsPrincipal and interest estimate before local costs

Mortgage results can change with taxes, insurance, HOA fees, down payment, and lender rules.

Auto Loan Calculator

Plan a car payment from vehicle price, down payment, interest rate, loan term, and trade-in assumptions.

Example input$25,000 car, $3,000 down, 7% for 60 monthsEstimated monthly auto payment

Use this for vehicle financing, not lease comparison. Taxes, fees, warranties, and insurance are separate costs.

Compound Interest Calculator

Estimate how savings or investments may grow when interest earns interest over time.

Example input$5,000 at 5% for 10 yearsGrowth depends on compounding frequency

Compound interest is useful for growth estimates, but actual investment returns can vary and are not guaranteed.

Simple Interest Calculator

Calculate interest when the interest is based only on the original principal.

Example input$1,200 at 6% for 2 yearsInterest = $144

Simple interest is different from compound interest because earned interest does not itself earn more interest.

Borrowing, repayment and growth are different finance questions

Finance calculators are easier to choose when the money question is separated into debt payments, home or vehicle financing, and interest growth.

  • General borrowingWhat is the payment on a loan?Use Loan
  • Home purchaseWhat could a house payment look like?Use Mortgage
  • Vehicle financingWhat could a car payment be?Use Auto Loan
  • Interest growthHow does money grow or accrue interest?Use Compound or Simple Interest

Finance checks before using an estimate

  • Separate estimates from offers

Calculator results are planning estimates. Lender quotes, tax rules, insurance, fees, credit profile, and local costs can change the actual payment.

  • Match the time period

Interest rate, term, and payment frequency must describe the same time basis. Annual rates, monthly payments, and multi-year terms should not be mixed carelessly.

  • Include outside costs

A payment calculator may not include every real-world cost. For homes and cars, remember taxes, insurance, fees, maintenance, and possible penalties.
